Dave "Dazy" Weymer

Owner D/T Blasing

Dazy has spent most his working life in the forest industry, primarily within the falling sector. He was a falling supervisor on large falling crews for over 20 years on Northern Vancouver Island, where his primary focus was always having the crew come home safely every night.

Dazy's passion for safety has led him to contribute his knowledge and ideas within various organizations. Dazy has served as the Co-Chair of the Western Fallers Association (WFA) for 8 years, served on the Board of Directors with the BC Forest Safety Council for 7 years, he has also been a member of the Faller Technical Advisory Committee since its inception. He was a member of Western Forest Products Faller Safety Task Force, and played a central role in the development of the Danger Tree Blasting course for fallers. Dazy is also an advisor to the US Forest Service for their faller safety and danger tree blasting programs.

More recently Dazy has played a crucial role in the development of new loggers, fallers and faller blasters.  Dazy has trained over 100 Faller Blasters through the Danger Tree Blasting Program. Dazy has also been involved with training over 60 rookie loggers and fallers. This year he headed up teaching Vancouver Island University's “Fundamentals of Logging Course” where he taught 12 students basic logging skills which enabled them to enter the logging workforce with a basic skill set and an emphasis on safety in the workplace.

As if that wasn’t enough Dazy finds time to run his “Danger Tree Service” where he helps homeowners, municipalities and government organizations assess and remove both hazard and unwanted trees in a safe and efficient manner with minimal impact on the surrounding area. Not only is Dazy a certified faller, he is also an accomplished tree climber, limber and topper. If you have a problem tree that needs addressing feel free to call Dazy. No job is too big or too small!
